The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter
5.0
Ah my obsession with this book was unreal. I feel like this was my first mystery romance that was truly equal parts mystery equal parts romance. It was a enemies to lovers trope with an whodunit attempted murder story line that will keep you guessing the whole book. The dialogue was fantastic between the two main character. This whole thing gave Knives Out vibes so if you loved that movie you will really enjoy this! I loved Ethan’s character and loved when he entered the chat half way through the book. Overall a great fun festive read for the season!
Maggie is asked to go on a secret trip to England for Christmas. She has no reason not to go because she’s newly divorced and friendless. When she finds out her arch nemesis, Ethan, is coming- she second guesses her whole decision. That is until she realizes she’s going to her favorite mystery author of all time, Eleanor Ashley’s, house. But when Eleanor disappears and someone tries to shoot her, the only person she can trust is Ethan. Or can she?!
Shout out to book of the month for this fantastic pick!
