Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

lighthearted
  • Plot- or character-driven? Character
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated

I was very pleasantly surprised by this. Read it quite literally just for the aquatics references and loved it. Became interested in it before much information was released, purely for the aquatic references, so was kind of daft and expecting it to be YA, but twas okay. Overall, I liked the characters. Sure, I see the vision of Hazelwood's MCs being a bit repetitive but as my second book by her, it wasn't too bad. However, there was def one particular character that pissed me off to no end. Finally, I don't love Hazelwood's very vague epilogues (based on the two books of hers I've read) in which big events are mentioned but don't happen within the book. I get why but I would still like to experience moments together with the book's characters.
