Claymore, Vol. 6 by Norihiro Yagi
5.0
Fighting the awakened being puts all the claymores on the edge; we finally discover Clare's „superpower” - which is the ability to sense the attacks, and avoid them. Her attacks are weak, but her defense is strong. In the end, though, her resistance is what breaks the awakened being, and in the end they overpower it.
But after the fight, Deneve is still close to death, and at Miria's suggestion that they are already awakened, that they were sent intentionally by the organization so that they get killed. Deneve awakens for a bit so that she can heal, then gets back to normal - a thing noticed by #3, Galatea, from a distance, at the request of her Organization handler.
Clare resumes her work, and she's sent to fight another awakened being, together with a low single digit - Ophelia. She's brutal and abusive - she senses Clare has awakened already, as Miria suggested, and puts her and Raki through a humiliating trial - as the awakened being arrives. The story becomes incredibly frustrating - Clare hits her limitations, and she's definitely overwhelmed - she tries to run as fast as possible, but will she be able?
It's a great development story-wise - the Organization seems more and more ominous, while a small opposing faction is building up. The story makes sense, and works excellently. Probably these are the best moments of the manga.
