Coming to terms with one’s mortality is never easy, but this book by Caitlin Doughty provides a great exploration of death ritual and culture around the world that helped me think more creatively about my own demise. Although at first glance, some practices may seem jarring, the purpose of ritual to help one move forward from the death of a loved one make so much more sense to me now. Highly recommend.
