I’ll start off by saying that this book was really well written. I thoroughly enjoyed how often the whole story changed directions. Just when you think that you have it figured out, there is a plot twist and you have to adapt to a new possibility and new facts. It was a wild ride and that’s what I really loved most about this book. I also didn’t even really mind the random POVs that are thrown in along the way for some info. I enjoyed that.
But then... This book should come with trigger warnings everywhere! It deals with really intense subject matter. The ending left me reeling and actually just left a sour taste in my mouth. Was it really necessary? I don’t think so. And this all in the last few pages of the book. I’m quite sensitive to what was revealed in the last few pages so this is definitely a subjective opinion.
So for how well the story was written and for its “unputdownability”, it gets the 3 stars. For the seriously hectic ending, it lost the other 2 in my opinion.
