Perfect Sense by Amanda Cowen
Did not finish book.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and honestly? I couldn't read past 11%. The book had a rocky start for me, with unrealistic details about business degrees (and having just done my MBA, I'm not completely ignorant on the topic). Everything was a bit cliché and flat, with stereotypes everywhere. I rolled my eyes several times in the first 10%. But I was determined to finish both this and the sequel for a blog tour...
That is, until I got to a scene at 11%. Now, I know that romance novels do like to play with the whole cocky player stereotype, and there's a weird grey area when it comes to what's sexy books vs real life (with lots of things that I swoon over in fiction not being allowed around me IRL). But this scene wasn't sexy at all. It went too far, and instead of getting worked up in a good way, I had alarm bells ringing in my head. Trapping a woman against the wall, invading her personal space, not listening when she says no, and promising it's just the beginning? That's harassment, plain and simple.
As such, I could not in good conscience finish this book.
