My Roommate Is a Vampire by Jenna Levine
4.0
I honestly had such a fantastic time reading this paranormal rom-com, I was giggling, kicking my feet, the works.
I really enjoyed both main characters and thought they were well-developed. Cassie was completely charming and I think so deserving of the romance. As for Frederick, he was a brilliant MMC, so funny I laughed out loud at his humour, obviously not bad looking either by the descriptions and I just really felt for him with his over-bearing mother and his difficulty in social situations. The budding romance between them was slow burn, and with the mixed media aspects of writing letters/notes to one another I just completely fell in love.
I think it's extremely well done as it is a debut. I enjoyed Jenna Levine's writing style a lot. I did think it was dual POV before starting the book and was disappointed when I realised it wasn't, although with the mixed media I thought we got to know Frederick enough through his letters and messages, without needing his POV.
I did think the conclusion was rushed, with Frederick's resolution happening too quickly and conveniently. However, I did enjoy the epilogue and it rounded the story out nicely.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
