Hokey Pokey by Jerry Spinelli
3.0
Hokey Pokey is an interesting book. It's about childhood and growing up. I had to read this book for my Children's Literature class. When I first started it, I thought, "this is going to be hard to get through." But once I read a little more I got more and more interested. I think Hokey Pokey was set up interestingly, what with the hippodrome and the Cartoons. It had a lot of made up words, like Snotsippers, but they seemed to fit this made up world, so it didn't bother me as much as it could have. I thought this book was pretty good by the time I finished it. I would probably recommend this book more to adults or at least young adults because I don't think children who haven't grown up yet and those kids that are transitioning to adolescence wouldn't really understand it as well as someone who has already been through the process.
