Lovecraft was a weird dude. The stories in this collection ranged from fun and pulpy (Cool Air, The Cats of Ulthar) to unbearably rambling and interminable (The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath). The footnotes were…eh. Helpful and funny in some places, but missing in a lot of places where I could have used clarification and there when they didn’t need to be, in my opinion.
