I am very disappointed — more so by the fact that this was one of my favourite movies of all-time, and the book just fell totally flat for me. The heartbreaking love story, the mysterious English patient; I can’t believe I’m saying it but the cinematic performance was so much better — film adaptations usually don’t do books justice but in this case, the movie actually wins. Ahhhhh. Maybe literary fiction isn’t my jam?
