A Crown of Victory and Vengeance by Vera Raye

“They would bleed themselves dry to keep others alive, but they didn’t care about how they mangled the spirit. As long as a heart kept beating, who cared how broken it was?”
“A Crown of Victory and Vengeance,” by Vera Raye
I loved the build-up; it was so good. It was a really good enemy to lovers with so much baggage in their relationship. I felt like some parts really dragged on a little too long, but it still was a really good book. The plot kept me interested in what would happen next with political intrigue and tension. The characters were written in the way I like, where their internal dialogue was a push and pull between what they wanted and what is expected of them. 4 out of 5 stars.
“…you’d both set yourselves on fire for people who don’t deserve it.”
