TW: grooming, sexual assault, rape and infant cot death.
Before I started reading this book I heard so many amazing reviews and I was slightly worried because I've read other books recently that haven't lived up to the hype around them but this one certainly delivered in every aspect you could possibly want from a psychological crime thriller. Honestly it was mind blowing and kept me guessing right until the very end and I was so shocked by the big reveal that I had read the last chapter twice just to double check I'd read it correctly. It is so thrilling and fast paced, you won't want to put it down once you get started! The storyline swaps so smoothly between the perspectives of Anna Andrews a BBC journalist and her ex-husband and detective chief inspector Jack Harper as they follow a murder investigation. Also it has extracts from the killer which are cryptic and really pull you even further into the story and make you second guess all of the characters and question who it could be. Its so hard to review this book without giving spoilers so I'll wrap this one up here but for me this is my new favourite read of 2020 so far and I cannot recommend it highly enough!
