Hamilton: The Revolution by Jeremy McCarter, Lin-Manuel Miranda
5.0
4.7/5 stars. One of my favorite books this year!
“Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now.”
I felt a lot of emotions reading this! I loved how the book contains the songs with footnotes for you to understand more and obviously, it was very entertaining to read this while I was hearing the full mixtape (trying to sing along, not succeeding). I found very interesting knowing more about the cast and crew, historical facts, the art of the making, the inspirations (loved the references to Harry Potter), etc.
This book left me thinking of how amazing Lin Manuel Miranda is (amazing songwriter, creative genius and a person who is not afraid of making something completely different of what we are used to see/hear) and how this play is REALLY making difference by being innovating, diverse, and fearless, a TRUE REVOLUTION.
This is a MUST if you love Hamilton, a great great book well written and complete (great photos, beautiful layout design, well documented and pages full of emotions).
BTW I just found out that this won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and I’m not surprised.
