Damn this book. I loved every page of it. Not one page had me wanting to skim the words, the story of a fever wiping out the majority of the human population and rebuilding new communities was amazing, just my cup of tea. I loved the characters. Domingo and Birdy. Willem and Nico Storm. Nero the psychologist. The pastor and founder of New Jerusalem. I loved it. The book changes as you read, you honestly feel like the characters are developing alongside the growth of their new city as you go through each development. The start of the book is nothing like the finish and it keeps the writing fresh and interesting. There must be a sequel!
