1.5 Stars

Once again, suckered by that pretty cover. I would do a more thorough review, except I read this a few years ago.

Me: Ooh, look! A pretty cover! Hmm... *reads book blurb* Hmm... hot guy... psychic loner girl... magic... "And she has no idea just who he really is - or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is that she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him." This is a pretty much direct quote of the blurb from TWILIGHT! (Which I will never, for the life of me, read.)
Ever: My family's DEAD, I hate my aunt and life... And I'm also a psychic, and a social outcast...
Me: Augh. Oh, hey look, this is the quote from Twilight's blurb!
*finds Twilight* "And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him." See! It's like Twilight!
Damen: I'm so hot and gorgeous and hot and gorgeous and rich and amazing and... oh, did I mention I'm hot?
Ever: *:DDDDD* I love you undyingly, Damen!
Me: You've just met this idiot. What if he's a murderer? Or a... vampire?
Redheaded Chick: Damen's mine, you little wannabe!
Me:Oh-kay? Did she forget to take her meds?
Ever: But we're soulmates!
Redheaded Chick: Ever, you're the same dumb blonde that I keep killing over and over again, except you keep reincarnating. I hate your guts.
Me: I hope Redheaded Chick succeeds this time.
Ever: I've just found out Damen doesn't age. Like, ever.
Me: Maybe he's a vampire?
Ever: Nah, he's got a tan.

I didn't stick around long enough to find out. And about half of the stuff in that quick summary is from me flipping to a random page.

The only reason it didn't get a one star, although it was close, is that I could actually follow what was going on, and the writing was OK.
