one thing about abby jimenez is that she’s going to write a book that’s digestible and fast paced, with such good storytelling & themes, along with sweethearts for male main characters, & a god damn female main character that pisses you the absolute fuck off.

i adored Yours Truly from the very beginning and i’m extremely glad i did because i was worried i wouldn’t considering how i felt about Part of Your World. Yours Truly was fixing to be a 5 star read, i loved briana’s character (in the beginning) she’s fiesty, has such hilarious humor, and was bold as FUCK. i loved that for her!! & of course we have jacob the fucking cutie pie. he’s so reserved but he’s also kind & his anxiety was so relatable.

the fake dating and one of the main plots of this book genuinely was everything i’ve ever wanted, i loved this book so much everything was perfect until it wasn’t. the lack of communication on briana’s end was genuinely about to send me into a mental breakdown! you’re grown as fuck ASSUMING how your “partner” feels. acting on impulsive decisions & making up your mind about how THEY feel without actually asking them how they feel. no type of talking anything through…. i was pulling my hair out.

and then the multiple conflicts (all briana’s fault by the way) were just sooooo dragged out by the end i was so fucking irritated. i tried to be understanding of briana i really did because i know she was traumatized and was dealing with a lot but a lot of the things she was struggling with & self sabotaging about could’ve been fixed with a few conversations. 

Jacob deserves better. he’s literally fucking obsessed with it briana AND HE SHOWS IT CONSISTENTLY and she’s breaking this man’s heart over and over for WHAT? smh
