The Mortgage Encyclopedia: The Authoritative Guide to Mortgage Programs, Practices, Prices and Pitfalls, Second Edition by Jack Guttentag
4.0
Not as dry of a read as you might think.
It is not quite an encyclopedia in the sense that it just lists common terms from A-Z. It is part instruction manual for mortgages, part mortgage dictionary, and part mortgage advice column. The author peppers in some real stories from people writing to him to illustrate some of the mishaps his readers run into when making uninformed decisions.
I wish the author would write a shorter, "absolutely-need-to-know-this" version that would be more appetizing to the general public, cause the information in here is very good!
Highly recommended for those looking to get a mortgage/refinance, and those working in mortgage-adjacent industries.
