The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose
1.0
I am terrible at dnf-ing books I didn't like. This book truly became a hate read pretty early on. So much of this book read like a bad first draft in the descriptions of characters and scenarios. And from the beginning Adam is the most annoying character who only devolves into stupider and stupider decisions (like running from arrest and being surprised it has severe consequences). And while for a bit I was willing to give Sarah the benefit of the doubt she also just made so many dumb choices for the supposed 'top defense attorney' in D.C. Now not to quibble but I've lived in Northern Virginia all my life. Some basic googling would have revealed that Virginia is a Commonwealth and doesn't have District Attorneys but Commonwealth Attorneys. That bothered me but is a small fish to fry in terms of the legal decisions and actions in this book. It's wild how inaccurate and out there they are.
I remember that this is the book that started Jeneva Rose's whole Scott saga and I hate to say it but Scott was right and this book is terrible. I can't believe it's so highly rated and getting both a movie and a sequel. This is truly one of the worst books I've read.
