The Snowman Code by Simon Stephenson [HarperCollins Canada #gifted]

The Snowman Code is the perfect middle grade novel to read during this upcoming winter season. It's filled with magic and the warmth of friendship. In this story, Blessing meets Albert Framlinton who is duty-bound by the Snowman Code to help any child in need. And Blessing needs help - to deal with the bullies at school, to help her mom who is sad because of the never-ending winter - and Albert could use some help as well to find his long lost true love. As the two bond and explore the city together, they learn more about friendship, love, betrayal, forgiveness, and the magic of community. 

The Snowman Code was such a warmhearted read that was sweet, funny, and absolutely magical. I can see readers loving this story - and building snowmen wherever they can to ensure these snow friends will always be able to return.
