I love that this book picks up right where book one left off. It throws you back into the action with no room left to spare!
I thought that this book did a great job at expanding the world and the dynamics between each of the races. I loved seeing the power struggles and learning the sordid history.I thought that the authors did a great job at slotting all those puzzle pieces into place in a way that makes the story feel well rounded and developed.
I DO wish that we had a bit more development into the men of the Harem. Unfortunately they do come across just a bit “tropey” in that they don’t have much depth and instead fall into a stereotype.
However, I do enjoy the way that the authors gave depth to our FMC. She grew into her powers in this book and I look forward to her really stepping into her own in the conclusion in book three, especially after that cliff hanger!
