Rattled: A Science Fiction Retelling of Rumpelstiltskin by Ariele Sieling

5.0

I've read many Arielle Stieling books so I knew what I was getting into pretty early on. That being said, much like previous books there were many plot twists.

This particular fairy tale is based off of Rumpelstiltskin and it follows a scientist named Sophia who gets roped into a secret project to save patients from living metal. She is not very successful but every night a strange janitor helps her. While his demands start out simple, it quickly turns dangerous. It leaves Sophia and her new boss scrambling to figure out the identity of this janitor and how he is helping the patients before Sophia loses everything

Rumpelstiltskin was never my favorite fairy tale growing up but I still found this to be a good adaptation and very interesting. I'm familiar with the concept of Living Metal after it appeared in a couple other books and it was cool to see it return here. It was also cool to see a cure for dealing with living metal after seeing the destruction it caused in previous books.

Overall 5/5 Stars.
