In this whimsical story we follow Morrigan who of course thinks she is set to die on her 11th birthday and then she is rescued by a strange man, named Jupiter North. We then learn that Jupiter has taken her to Nevermoor and has "chosen" her as his 1st candidate to present to the Wondrous Society and she must face four trials and overcome the challenges to stay in Nevermoor or face her death. Why does Jupiter choose her as his first after all these years as a member of the Society? This is such a whimsical, atmospheric story that is somewhat reminiscent of Harry Potter. I'm dying for the 2nd in the series!!
