"I feel that if I’m going through this hellish decline, you should be going through one also . . . misery loves company, and I guess we’ve all got a streak of one hundred percent gold-plated bastard in our natures, tangled up so tightly with the good part of us that we can never get free of it."

This book was yet another surprise I did not expect! In the best way possible. I expected this to be one of King's books I didn't like much, but I was totally wrong!

It was very clear again that this is a much older book, with slang and other situations that would not see the light of day in these times anymore πŸ˜… but if you keep in mind that it is an older book and with what themes it is about, I got through it all right!

The ending was also absolutely heartbreaking. The entire book was about finding a cure, making it stop, whatever was happening to the MC, and the closer to the end you came, the more dreadful I started to feel. Not for him, but also his family!

Anyway, it is not my fave Stephen King, but definitely better than I thought!
