Uhhhhhm. I don't know where to start. I don't really know what to say. I can already tell his is going to be one of those series’ that I just don't like it all, but i like to torture myself so I'm going to push all the way through it.
I like the idea of the girl that everyone instantly forgets. I really think that I could have been well done and sweet and romantic to watch her fall in love. It's a great idea.
I really don't like making the villain pop out of nowhere at the very end as someone it never should have been. It was dumb. It felt like the author didn't think it all the way through and needed a plot twist and thought, hey! That will work. It didn't. there were no little clues or hints or anything throughout to make it even a little bit plausible that the villain be the villain. That was a major piss off.
Also, the explanation of Avalon was crap. It made no sense and was confusing. I also feel like the idea of the “realm” changed more than once.
Avie was whiny and annoying. I hate an fmc who can't do anything for herself. I hate when women in a book just pick up their whole lives and quit their job so their man (men) can take care of them. It's terrible. So that didn't work for me. Neither did her relationship with any of the guys. There's no chemistry with them. As much as I'm told there's a lot of tension and they look at each other with smoldering eyes or whatever, i felt nothing between anyone.
Anyway, maybe I'll like the next one more. I'm interested in seeing more of the King Arthur and Excalibur parts of this series.
