Omegas Unchained by Samantha Cayto

4.0

I have some mixed feelings about this particular book from the series. I honestly stopped reading after the 6th one because I wasn't into the new pairings, but this one had a combination of a few elements I enjoy a lot. However, I'm split because while I loved those, I wasn't into others.

The plot is about Ryan and Ethan, two omegas who choose their own future. Ryan has been in love with beta Griffin, but the guy hasn't given any step further nor has he, so it's a sort of limbo, orbiting around each other. Griffin respects him and loves him back, is caring towards Ryan's kid and wants the best for Ryan. On the other hand, there's Ethan who has has been told he has infertility issues, which is the reason his ex alpha threw him out of his pack. But another pack is visiting the Rogues besides his own, and he will become infactuated with an alpha, Graydon.

I absolutely adore Ryan and Griffin. It was cute seeing them treat each other so carefully, but still being too shy/insecure to actually say the words outloud. I loved how it was Ryan who became assertive and was very clear about his choices. I loved their little family. Plus their own circles of friends teasing them about the whole thing was fun.

My mixed feelings are about the second couple. While I think the author did a great balance onto both and I don't feel it was rushed given the nature of Ethan and Graydon's relationship, it wasn't to my liking. Ethan's conflict is about feeling defective because he is "barren". But then an alpha comes and
Spoilerturns outside down the premise by actually making him go to into heat and then impregnating him?
. I don't understand the point. Perhaps these two didn't click for me because it was more instalust/fated mate thing, and I'm not a fan of such elements. I just wasn't satisfied with the idea of Ethan not learning that his worth isn't about his fertility, even worse when his own mate reinforces that idea. At least the Elijah vs Graydon confrontation was thrilling.

I still decided to give it 4 stars because of how much I like the other main couple. They were adorable and I kept turning the pages to get to their POV. This author has a talent for making a reader engaged until the end, the books are very easy to read and I find that fascinating. Great writting style as usual, I enjoy how simple but to the point it is.
