This is such a difficult book for me to review as it had my emotions all over the place and left me feeling very conflicted. I’m glad I listened to the audiobook because if I had the physical book I might have actually thrown it in anger at a couple different points. I was so pissed off in fact, I didn’t want to give it five stars, but I can’t justify anything less for such a beautifully written, captivating story that evoked such powerful feelings as I listened to it.

*Disclaimer - I know nothing about mythology or Homer’s Iliad. If you’re more familiar with these, the events in the book may not have the same impact as they did on me since I had no idea what to expect.
•
In summary…
I LOVE - Patroclus.
I adore - The audiobook narration, the writing, the development of the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus.
I like - Chiron, Briseis, and Achilles for 75% of the story.
I dislike - Menoetius and Agamemnon.
I hate - Achilles for 25% of the story and Thetis.
I hate with the passion of a thousand suns - Neoptolemus.

Thank you @booknerd_4ever for the recommendation. I don’t know that I can call it a favorite, but it’s certainly one I won’t forget🖤
