Happy Place by Emily Henry

5.0

“You are in all of my happiest places. You are where my mind goes when it needs to be soothed.”

Emily Henry does it again! 🙇🏼‍♀️

Something about EH’s writing and storytelling completely grabs me. I know this one has gotten more mixed reviews than I feel like her previous books did, but I think this one just might be my favorite one!

I felt like this one went a little deeper into the emotions than her previous books. It really dove into grief, expectations imposed by someone else, and being true to yourself.

I also loved Wyn and Harriet’s relationship. It felt genuine and I was rooting for them. I loved the friendship connection between all the characters and am finding out that I really enjoy the “found family” trope a lot. There’s an unconditional love and acceptance that’s true with found family and EH really tugged at my heartstrings with how she wrote this in the story.

This is the perfect kick off to summer reading and I’m so glad my library hold came in sooner than later!
