Jessica Jones, Vol. 3: Return of the Purple Man by Brian Michael Bendis

5.0

This was a beautiful final arc for Jessica as written by Bendis. I've never felt so satisfied by an ending for an abuser, nor had my trust and respect for an author shoot up so much based on a single decision. And the last issue was absolutely lovely. Bendis writes in the letter at the end that he "wanted to give her one perfect day" and it was so satisfying and beautiful. A lot of writers tend to lean too heavily on their characters' pain, and forget that for a truly satisfying story you must allow them joy, love, connection, and yes a great day once in a while in their lives; Bendis didn't.
