TIPS AND TRYSTS BY @rebeccakinkadeauthor
I am beeeeeehiiiiiind on some of these reviews so @rebeccakinkadeauthor if you wanna slap me around a lil I’d deserve it….
I’d also enjoy it, probably. Ball’s in your court 🤣
Anywayyyyyy
I’m here to tell you to read Tips and Trysts. I AM HERE 👏🏼 TO 👏🏼 TELL 👏🏼 YOU 👏🏼…. That I think it’s possible I have never laughed out loud so much and found myself so taken by the banter in a book EVER like I was with this. I have been in a bit of a slump but this yeeted me right out of it. Nothing was feeling good. Nothing was catching me up and making me forget I was reading. And then Rebecca went and introduced me to Congressman Everett Logan 🥵
Guys, this book took me out. I’m struggling to articulate how incredible it is. I have never read something so funny. So nasty. So controversial but at the same time SO important and meaningful. This book changed my perspective and the way I’ll review books moving forward.
Everett is a congressman in a long line of politically savvy people. His father is the devil…. I mean governor. And he has had big, ugly shoes to fill since he could walk.
Cora is a hot spitfire and a cam girl. And Everett has decided he’ll have her. That’s pretty much the immaterial summary of the plot. But if you want your life to be changed, read this right now. Have your heart filled with what it means to take a stand for what you really believe in after you conquer the pain of looking at yourself hard and thoroughly enough that you can say what that is with pride.
You don’t have to thank me later but you will 😉
“Words have always been the pinnacle of importance to me, a weapon I could wield better than anyone I knew. They were the closest thing I had to an equalizer in a world that expected me to be diminutive.”
