After failing with Piranesi, I thought this would be an easier book to digest. Only to find myself in the middle of time travel story that I could NOT make sense of. There were all these rules the characters kept mentioning, but yikes I was so lost. I gave up on trying to make sense of that, but I still just didn’t really care about any of these characters other than the young daughter (surprise surprise). Again, I don’t think this was a bad book, but it wasn’t for me at this time.
