The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer
5.0
I won't lie, I knew nothing about Amy Schumer before this book. I never saw her show, her movie, or her comedy shows. I know of her, but that ends at basically knowing her name and that she's funny. After reading her memoir (listening to it, actually), I am so happy I picked it. Not only is Amy hilarious, she is raw, real, honest, and it's like just talking to a friend. She brings you through this adventure of her loving herself and why everyone should do the same, but also about some of the things she's gone through in her life. Some things you may be able to connect to and some you might not, but it's still a great book to read/listen to and feel like you know her. She got real and raw talking about gun violence and I can appreciate her talking about a hot topic.
I have never cried while reading a memoir, even the ones of the people I actually know things about, but in this one, I cried at least once. I had chills on more than one occasion and I also felt frozen in shock because it's one of those moments where I realized "I'm not alone."
Definitely recommend this book.
