Gerard's Beauty by Marie Hall

5.0

Okay, let me tell you something - i'm absolutely in love with the "Kingdom"-series - the first book about Hatter and his Alice was fabulous but this one? I think I even loved it more!

We're all familiar with the story of "Beauty and the Beast" and we all know there was this other guy, the villain, that no one really liked or cared about - not even Belle. Well, this book is only about him, Gerard Caron!

And I kind of fell in love with him ... he's a womanizer and there are certain things he's really good at - some of them surprised me because from what we found out about him I didn't think he could do it. And he's a Frenchman, oh god. I loved the little words in french - the nicknames he used for Betty were awesome and in general he's such a handsome and passionate man!
I could picture EVERYTHING - yes, everything. Once you read it you'll understand what i'm talking about :D - perfectly in my head!

The story was extremely cute but also hot and awesome and it seemed a bit more ... real? I don't know, but it wasn't the same as in "Her Mad Hatter", where I always knew we're in Wonderland right now. Maybe because Gerard was so normal and had flaws like everyone else.
Spoiler Btw! His scenes with Briley were sooooo cute! And when Betty found out that he can't read and tried to teach him - loved it!

Betty was also awesome! Very likeable and real - she loves anime and likes to cosplay aaaand she's working in a library! ;)

The ending was beyond perfection and after I finished the book i was happy! With everything and how it turned out and ugh sooo good and just amazing! I can't wait to read the next one and who knows? Maybe i'll like it even more than this one? Might be hard :D
