Read for a review of the catalogue for the exhibition Syracuse, the Fairest Greek City: Ancient Art from the Museo Archeological Regionale, by University of Georgia's Frances Van Keuren. Van K is unsparing, seems to know more about this artistic tradition than those who mounted the show and text. The critic doesn't mention Anne Carson's contribution to the cat -- one of the things that brought me to the book in the first place. :)
