The Way of the Kings is a big book with well over 1100+ pages. With that many pages, the book is bound to be slow in parts, but there is a world that Brandon Sanderson is building and setting up here, so by the end things really start to make sense. Several POVs are used throughout the book. Each main character we are introduced plays a key role in the story and helps peel the many layers of this story back. What stood out to me was the characters that we follow are well developed in the story and I found myself caught up in each story trying to understand the mystery unfolding around them. By the end, my jaw was on the floor from several of the twists and revelations. Needless to say, The Way of the Kings is well worth the time invested and I'm picking up Words of Radiance (Book 2) immediately to see where this story is going.
