Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

4.0

I have had this book on my TBR for so long and I finally got around to listening to the audiobook. First of all let me start off by saying I absolutely adored the audiobook narration, which had multiple narrators, as this is a story that needs to be brought to life. It is the longest audiobook I've ever listened to, 16 hours 45 minutes, and I thought it would be a slog to get through but it just flew by and I enjoyed listening to it so much.
I found the majority of the characters to be very likeable and I was rooting for them from the beginning, with Louisa and Will in particular, as well as Will's mother Camilla, going through some significant character development as the story progresses. Whilst I usually like multiple POVs, in this book when it got to chapters other than Lou I didn't enjoy them as much as I didn't think their viewpoints were beneficial to the story. Instead I would have preferred Will's POV, and I think many would agree.
I really enjoyed certain scenes in the book which will always stay with me, my favourite being Lou's birthday meal and receiving Will's birthday present. I have read a few novels from Jojo Moyes now and love picking up her books as they are packed full of emotions and their stories are so impactful. I have After You, the second book in this series, on my shelf ready to read and I love Louisa's character so I'm looking forward to reading more of her character.
