I really enjoy Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s writing. She really does a superb job of giving you an image in your mind. I could imagine the setting, the house, the smells. She really gave you the creeps. I think the second half of the book is much more exciting. The first half is a lot of character information and a slow build of weird things. The second half I couldn’t put down. The ending was actually pleasantly surprising. I wasn’t sure where it was going to go. I will say there are a lot of disturbing things in the book but I knew that going into it. Overall, great read for October.
