A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
5.0
What a beautiful, funny, tragic and rich novella. I'm so glad my friend Brooke recommended this to me, as I don't know that I would have picked it up any other way. It is so many things all wrapped into one--incisive in its critique of our current social milieu, reflective of our fear of death, funny, heart warming. I saw so many of the "Man's Men" in my family in Ove. I was lucky to spend a week with him as the characters were in the story to spend their 3.
A reminder to us all to live a little lighter and remember that heroism comes in unexpected packages. What a gift.
