The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
5.0
I didn’t think I’d ever read this book. When I was younger I always thought it was a stupid book, “why would I want to read something about kids killing kids?”
8 years later I’ve read about rape, murder, fascist dictatorships, revolutions, all types of terrible things and I realized I might as well. Since I’m such a revolutionary I should probably read one of the most well known rebellion-dystopia books of recent years.
I finished it in three days, I couldn’t stop reading. The last book I couldn’t stop reading was The Road by Cormac McCarthy and before that Dune by Frank Herbert. All three completely different books but all three offering incredible beautiful disturbing narratives. All I can say is that it’s weird that this book is for “young adults” with what it’s about and what it suggests to the reader.
