I found the writing style, especially at the beginning, to be very much telling us everything rather than showing which made the book feel a bit juvenile. It was also a bit stereotypical with its characters but I found it got better about half way through when we got to see more of the emotions of the characters. I did enjoy the story but was let down by the writing.
