ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!? Seriously, that's no way to end a book/novella like this. Just no. Nope, nononononono. I can't handle this. I'M NOT OKAY!

My feelings are all over the place and I love but also hate that Alexandra Bracken has this effect on me. She makes me want to throw my book (or in this case my kindle) against a wall but at the same time I desperately want to hug it to my chest and cry for hours! If all her endings are cruel like these two, I don't know how I'm suppossed to survive this. Honestly, I just ... ugh.

"In Time" is a little novella of the The Darkest Minds universe and is out of Gabe's POV. He's a guy with no money and thinks by turning in the freaks and becoming a skiptracer his life would change to a better one - at least he'd have the money to move away then. When he meets Zu that's exactly what he gets ... a chance to change everything, just not the way he expected it.

I didn't really like Gabe at first, although I kind of understood him. People just don't have any idea about the camps, the kids in general and what they can do with their abilities, so it's "normal" to be sceptical and assume the worst. I really started to grow on him once he understood what it all meant. He slowly connected with Zu and all these little moments between them were just amazing. By the end I really, really, really liked him and well ... like I mentioned above, the ending is cruel. Just nope. I can't cope with this right now or else I'll smash my computer or start to cry.

If you have read The Darkest Minds, be sure to also read this little novella! I don't know if Alexandra Bracken is going to tell what happened to Zu in the second book but if not it's kind of good to know because she's also an important character. And it's definitely worth a read. 100%. I loved it a lot. I'd totally recommend it, so go and read it NOW! :)
