I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the Lamia series. Each part is a small story in itself, but details the journey of Dema Culver as she becomes aquainted with all levels of her shaman awareness. She is an endearing, dynamic character dedicated to using her shapeshifting power to aid innocents. The messages and themes - from the troubles of the drug-trafficking world to the inner workings of one's own spirit - were an interesting change from the usual fantasy. Definitely one of my favourite books!
