This book was tagged as Lovecraftian, and I appreciated the ancient cosmic entities lurking in the ocean depths.

Nevertheless, this is still an unbalanced novel where the horror elements strongly outshine the characters.

I was rooting for Ada Oliver and the Lords Below the whole way through.
