The Stranger in the Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit by Michael Finkel

5.0

I've always wanted to retreat into the woods to escape the chaotic life of modern day, but unlike Christopher Knight I definitely would not survive. This book offered so many insights to what it's like to just be with yourself and not fitting any category of anyone else. It's about just doing things because you want to do it. Honestly, I am now very interested in the study of solitude, and loneliness and how it effects humans. This is a book for a certain type, but I would recommend it to many.
