Loved this, it was full of ‘wtf’ moments. Could’ve been a 5⭐️ as the plot was so crazy and dark, and i love an unreliable narrator, but I brought it down to 4 because (1) it took me until I had read 30% of the book to really care about the plot; (2) the twists didn’t always shock me (although they were good); and (3) I was hoping for one other thing to happen: I was hoping Nina would realise her condition/state of mind and gain some memory of what her father had done and that she was actually the one who killed him years ago. Her dream of him is mentioned toward the end of the book but she blocks out the realisation of what actually goes down, before it happens, so that disappointed me. I know if she had been in a fugue state when she killed him then it is unlikely the memory would ever come rushing back later in life, but I was hoping somehow the author would include that anyway. Would have been interesting to see Nina’s interpretation of it - whether she’d feel guilty and crumble mentally as a result, or feel justified and proud in a psychopathic kind of way.
