Funny Story by Emily Henry
3.0
Almost a dnf but finished it due to it being my staff book club pick (and I run the club). I think I need a break from Julia Whelan narrating, she is incredible but somehow all the American audios I pick up are done by her. The book itself had a forgettable main character who was in desperate need of therapy (mine and general group consensus). I actually did enjoy the book until three quarters in and I was disappointed in the trajectory of plot. Miles was my favourite character until he blew it, and if this was any of my friends in their mid 30s dating him I’d be saying to dump this average guy. He also needs serious therapy with all his issues at the age of 36. If he was in his mid 20s I think I’d be more understanding but the ending was just sad. I would say more of a 2.5 star read but I’ve rounded up.
