For someone who does not like the fairy tale/Pixar/Disney movies, I really liked this book. I love fairy tale retellings because they are creative with the little clues they put it. Like the boat, the watch, James calling Wendy darling, etc. I find it so cool!

I seriously would rather face my fears than ever watch a Pixar/Disney movie (please don’t hate on me), such as Cars, Up, Snow White, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, etc, but I finished this book in four hours. It doesn’t make sense but I’m not complaining.

James, or Hooks, wants to get revenge on Peter Micheals, Wendy’s father, for killing his parents and uses Wendy to do that. But after spending some time with her, he falls for her and realizes he would give up his life for her. I love how James is all about loyalty and he treats the people loyal to him well.

Wendy wants her father to spend time with her and her brother, Jon, but he’s too busy to spend time with her. I can relate to Wendy in this case because, while my father isn’t as busy as Wendy’s is, he doesn’t show up to much and so I understand her feelings. Wendy falls in love with James because he’s one of the very few people who don’t treat her like a little girl. He treats her as an equal.

I’m so in love with them omg! Also I did not see those betrayals coming like what? Ok…I might have seen one of them coming but still…poor James. I can’t wait to read the next book!
