Persuasion by Jane Austen

This is the first Jane Austen book I’ve read and I do very much love her style of writing. I half read this normally and half listened to it via and audiobook, and I have to say, Cynthia Erivo’s reading made this so much more delightful. Hee British accent and tone brought out the little nuances of speech that I otherwise would have missed. The audiobook is also free on Spotify! I would recommend reading the book normally for the first couple of chapters just because of the many characters getting introduced at the start that could make one feel lost. A very simple love story where the details made the book absolutely beautiful. Anne Elliot can be seen as a doormat by some but the character is so well developed and explained that I can’t help but feel for her and want her to feel happy! I enjoyed all the little digs at Sir Walter Elliot, I love how the author wrote and introduced each character and I do like the writing style though it might be a bit hard to get into at the start. I’ll definitely be checking out more Jane Austen novels in future. :)
