If the book didn't take nearly half of it's page count getting to the plot, instead of weird, meandering non sequiturs about scifi nonsense, it would have gotten a much higher rating.

As it stands, it stuck the landing, and was very heartfelt and interesting, if not very compelling plot-wise.

I'll definitely think about this one years down the road.
