I watched the movie first, and loved it for the little fluff bucket that it was. The book is so much better to the characters though... It fills in the holes that don't stand up to scrutiny in the movie. It was exactly what I needed for the week before spring break; light, easy, fluffy, and sweet. Classic Austen style? Definitely not. But it wasn't trying to be, and didn't need to be, so I wouldn't hold that against the book. Don't take it super seriously and it's a lovely quick read.
