Basically, the conflicts that were raised in the story that I cared most about (see Jack’s parents, Emily’s grief and novel) were not addressed or resolved in a manner that was satisfying.

And the epilogue genuinely upset me with how unfulfilled I feel at the ending.

So I can’t really see this romance outside of all that, which means this review is not much of a review and just me dumping all of my feelings out in the hopes of achieving some level of catharsis.

I’m not sure it’s working.
